✦ Enrich

Enrich

Enrich is where you build and maintain your organization's master data - linking raw ERP records to cleansed, unified master entities and setting segment attribution that flows through every IQ module.

Marquis Recommendation
  • Trust the system on Master detection. Marquis IQ automatically identifies and groups ERP accounts into Master records. You don't need to manage individual assignments - the automation handles the heavy lifting.
  • Focus your effort on Maintain, not Assign. The Maintain workflow - setting Family Name, Salesforce Account, and Manual Segments on each Master - is where you provide the business context that flows through every IQ module. This is your highest-value activity in Enrich.
  • Family Name is the top of the hierarchy. Above Master Customer sits Family Name, which groups Masters under a corporate parent. A well-maintained Family Name structure is the foundation for family-level revenue, margin, and inventory roll-ups across all modules.

The Mastering Model

Every entity in Marquis IQ (Customer, Supplier, Item) follows a three-level hierarchy. Understanding this structure is key to using Enrich effectively.

Take Boeing as an example. Your ERP may contain eight separate Boeing customer records - Boeing Commercial – Everett, Boeing Commercial – Renton, Boeing Defense – St. Louis, and so on - each with a different customer number, different ERP system, and a slightly different address format for the same physical location. Marquis groups ERP accounts that share an address into a Site (identified by an Enrichment Number), then rolls up Sites to a Master Customer (one per legal entity / Tax ID), then groups Masters under a Family Name.

Example - The Boeing Company in Marquis IQ

The Customer Mastering Model - the same hierarchy applies to Supplier and Item domains

Level Entity Identifier What it represents Boeing example
Master Master Customer Tax ID (legal entity) The golden record. One legal company, regardless of how many ERP systems or physical locations it has. Boeing Commercial Airplanes - one Master per Tax ID
Site Site Enrichment Number A unique physical address, identified by Marquis's Enrichment Number. A single Master can have multiple Sites. DnB data enriches the Site with a standardized business name and address. EN-48210 → Boeing Everett (Everett, WA); EN-48217 → Boeing Renton (Renton, WA)
ERP ERP Account ERP customer ID Raw records from your source ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, Acumatica, etc.). Multiple ERP accounts from different systems roll up to the same Site when they share the same physical address. BCA-10042 in SAP, C-774891 in Epicor - same Everett building, different customer numbers

Two Operations: Assign and Maintain

Every Enrich master screen supports two distinct operations, shown by the direction arrows in the diagram above.

↓ Assign
Assignment

Link raw ERP records to a Master entity. You select an ERP Account row in the Data Grid and choose (or create) the Master Customer it belongs to. Multiple ERP accounts can be assigned to the same master.

↑ Maintain
Maintenance

Set attribution on the Master entity itself - Family Name, Salesforce Account, and Manual Segments. These attributes are defined at the master level and flow down to all assigned ERP accounts across every IQ module.

Attribution Fields

The three attribution fields you maintain on a Master Customer (and Master Supplier) are the primary segment dimensions used throughout every IQ module report and filter.

  • Family Name Groups multiple Master Customers under a parent corporate family. For example, Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense, Space & Security are separate Masters (different Tax IDs), but both belong to Family Name The Boeing Company - enabling consolidated Boeing revenue and margin reporting across all IQ modules.
  • Salesforce Account Links the Master Customer to a Salesforce Account record, enabling CRM-side attribution and cross-system alignment between your ERP and sales data.
  • Manual Segments Freeform segment tags you define for your organization - market vertical, strategic tier, region, or any custom classification. Multiple segments can be assigned to a single master.
ℹ️
Attribution set in Enrich is the single source of truth for segmentation across all IQ modules. Changes made here propagate automatically - there is no need to re-tag records in individual modules.

Where This Applies

Customer

Master Customer → Site (Enrichment Number) → ERP Account. Supports Family Name, Salesforce Account, and Manual Segments. DnB enrichment populates standardized name and address data at the Site level.

Supplier

Same three-level hierarchy as Customer. Master Supplier → Site → ERP Vendor Account. Supports Manual Segments and Family Name grouping. Used in Procurement IQ for vendor spend segmentation.

Item

Master Item → ERP Item. A simplified two-level structure. Supports Manual Segments for product categorization. Used across all IQ modules for product-level analysis.
