Saved Views

A Saved View captures your filter configuration, column layout, column order, and aggregations as a named snapshot — instantly recallable in any view across Marquis IQ.

💡
Saved Views are a pillar of Marquis IQ efficiency. Users who master them eliminate most of the repetitive click-work at the start of each session. Invest a few minutes naming your most common questions as views; you will recover the time many times over.

Every view in Marquis IQ supports Saved Views. Once defined, a view turns a multi-step setup into a single click. Every Saved View you create also appears on the Home page in the My Saved Views panel, organized by module. One click from the Home page loads any view directly, with no navigation required. The possibilities are limited only by the quality of your data and your imagination:

Show me all open orders due today
Show me inventory items below safety stock
Show me POs with purchase price variance
Show me records for only my territory

Active View The Saved View currently loaded. Indicated by a blue dot (●) in the Saved Views dropdown.
Default View The Saved View that loads automatically each time you open the view. Indicated by a star (★) in the Saved Views dropdown. Only one view can be the Default at a time.

SAVED VIEWS button The bookmark icon button in the toolbar. Click it to open the Saved Views dropdown and access all view management options.

The Saved Views Dropdown

Click the SAVED VIEWS button in the toolbar to open the Saved Views dropdown. The dropdown lists all saved views for the current view. The view name in the context bar breadcrumb confirms which one is active.

Creating and Saving a View

Any combination of filters, column layout, and sort order can be saved as a Saved View. Configure the view the way you want it, then save it with a name you'll recognize instantly.

  1. 1
    Configure the view

Apply the filters, arrange the columns, and set any aggregations that define the view. This is what will be captured.

  2. 2
    Open the Saved Views dropdown

Click the SAVED VIEWS button in the toolbar. The dropdown opens.

  3. 3
    Click Create Saved View

At the bottom of the dropdown, click Create Saved View. The Create Saved View dialog opens. (If you already have an active Saved View loaded, this button reads Update Saved View instead.)

  4. 4
Name the view and configure options

Enter a descriptive View name; pick something that answers the question the view is designed to answer. Add an optional Note for context. Check Set As Default if you want this view to load automatically on every visit.

  5. 5
    Save

Click Save to save the view.

4 5 6
  1. 4 View name: required; choose a name that answers the question the view addresses, so it's self-explaining at a glance
  2. 5 Set As Default: when checked, this view loads automatically each time you open the view; replaces any previous Default
  3. 6 Save: saves the view with the name and options you have entered

Managing Saved Views

Click the Kebab Menu next to any view name to open its management options. Actions apply to that individual view and do not affect other views.

7 8 9 10
  1. 7 Rename: change the view's display name at any time without affecting its saved configuration
  2. 8 Duplicate: creates a copy of the view under a new name; the fastest way to create a variation of an existing view
  3. 9 Share: sends the view configuration to another user, who can open it and optionally save it as their own
  4. 10 Delete: permanently removes the view; this action cannot be undone

Tips & Tricks

  • There is no limit to the number of Saved Views you can create per view.
  • Column order and visibility are saved as part of the view; arrange columns once and never do it again.
  • You can designate one view as the Default; it loads automatically on each visit, eliminating the need to re-apply filters every session.
  • Share a view with a colleague so they can open your exact configuration and save it as their own, with no disruption to your copy.
  • Rename any view at any time; the name change does not affect the saved configuration.
  • Click Update Saved View in the dropdown to overwrite an existing view with your current configuration, useful when your filters or columns evolve over time.
  • Reset to Standard View clears the active Saved View and returns to the application default with no filters applied.
  • The blue dot (●) in the dropdown marks the currently active view; the star (★) marks the Default.
  • When a Saved View is active, the context bar displays a dark blue gradient and the view name appears in the breadcrumb, giving a quick visual confirmation of which view you are in.
  • In multi-company organizations, Saved Views are essential; create one per location to always land on the right scope without manually re-filtering each session.
  • Clone a view using Duplicate from the kebab menu, ideal for building variations of a proven view without modifying the original.
